Child Care Subsidy
Child Care Subsidy Updates – Effective 8 July 2024

From 8 July 2024, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) hourly rate caps and family income thresholds will increase in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Key Changes:

-
The hourly rate cap for children below school age in Centre-Based Day Care will increase to $14.29.
-
The family income threshold for the 90% subsidy rate will increase to $83,280.
The subsidy percentage is based on a family's Combined Family Adjusted Taxable Income (ATI). Families earning up to $83,280 will receive a 90% subsidy. For incomes above this amount, the subsidy gradually decreases by 1% for every $5,000 earned. Once a family’s income reaches $533,280 or more, they will no longer be eligible for the CCS.
