Preschool
Our Preschool school readiness program offers children a solid foundation to flourish! With a distinctive approach, we focus not only on education but also on promoting health, social growth, and overall wellbeing for every child in our care.

What Does a Preschool Day Look Like?

At Little Gems we provide the preschool children with a range of learning activities which also incorporates interest based activities. The children also participate in show and tell, small group learning times, self help activities that prepare them for school such as putting shoes on, toileting, opening lunch boxes, putting on jackets/jumpers and keeping belongings in their bags. We as parents sometimes forget about those little skills which can make your child’s transition to school a smooth one.

Play Based Learning

Research supports that preschoolers thrive in a play-based learning environment, where learning is integrated into all their activities, both planned and spontaneous. With this approach, each day offers numerous opportunities for learning, all while ensuring the process remains enjoyable. We want children to love coming to school and make learning fun so it sets them up for success when transitioning to Kindergarten.

Supportive Educators

Preschool children need a supportive educator who can guide their learning. Someone who they can explore with and look up to. By building this connection it allows children to learn in a positive environment with love and encouragement.

Families & Community

At Little Gems, family and the community play a significant role in your child’s life. These people guide your child’s learning and set up their values and beliefs which they will take with them through life. We also invite the local librarian, fire fighters, police officers etc to come in and share their knowledge allowing the Preschoolers to ask questions and learning more.
Young Brains Are Works In Progress

Neuroscience shows that early experiences impact upon brain development more than genetics.
In other words, nurture trumps nature. Young brain development is dependent on a positive environment – good nutrition, health, and nourishing and stimulating parenting..
